Made by Earth’s lavender oil is sourced directly from Bulgaria, known for its No.1 global ranking in organic lavender production. Once our lavender has grown, the highest quality flowers are harvested and distilled on the same day in our state-of-the-art distillery with no additives to produce the purest lavender oil. Then it is brought back to the United States where it is bottled and packaged carefully by hand.

What are the properties of lavender oil?

Can lavender oil help you sleep?

How does lavender essential oil work?

Lavender oil works by communicating with the limbic system in the brain.  This part of the brain is responsible for keeping track of your memory, emotion, and nervous system.  On top of this, it also regulates your heart rate, blood pressure, hormones, and ability to concentrate.  When lavender oil is applied directly to the skin, it is absorbed and in a mere 20 minutes, the properties of the oil start to take effect!

Our lavender oil is pure and concentrated.  While lavender oil can be used in a numerous of ways to benefit the body, including improving your skin and hair, it can sometimes irritate the skin.  This is because our lavender oil is pure; meaning that the concentration is very high.  Before using, we recommend diluting the essential oil with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, jojoba or olive oil.

What are the side effects of lavender oil?

Lavender oil may cause skin irritations or allergic reactions in certain individuals.  If this happens, discontinue the use of the oil and contact your doctor.  Lavender oil is known to slow down the response time of the central nervous system and should not be used with anesthesia, certain medications, or post-surgery. 

Is lavender oil safe to use during pregnancy?

It is commonly regarded that essential oils should be avoided during the first trimester of pregnancy.  To a growing fetus, lavender oil could be considered a potentially toxic substance and should be avoided.  Diluting the oil will help in the prevention of this exposure. Contact your doctor first with any questions or concerns before use.

Can lavender oil calm my baby?

Does lavender oil stain fabrics?

In short, it does not!  Pure lavender oil will evaporate from any fabric without leaving a stain or residue.

Can lavender oil be used to calm my pets?

Lavender oil goes gets processed the same way it does in a human as it does an animal.  It’s natural properties can help ease anxiety in pets and calm them down in small quantities.  It is important to note that animal’s sense of smell are generally stronger than a humans and could be effected differently as a result.  According to VCA Animal Hospitals, dogs can have 100 million receptors in their nose while humans only have 6 million!  Your pet’s safety comes first so, be careful is you want to share the scent of lavender oil with them.

Does lavender repel insects?

Lavender oil naturally contains a non-toxic compound called linalool, found in many pest control products, which interferes with the neurotransmitter in insects and can work as a natural repellent. You can prepare your own natural repellent by mixing a teaspoon of lavender oil into 500ml of water.
